Innovative projects should be beneficial to an organization, and create opportunities for employees to upgrade their capabilities, create organizational growth and benefit stakeholders. For example, innovative projects may be implementing new ideas or new ways of providing service care to patients to reduce wait time. It could be in the form of creating a new unique product, which makes an organization competitive. Innovation opportunities is not confined to the manufacturing industries. For example, innovative projects may be implementing new ideas, new ways of providing service care to patients to generate greater satisfaction. In my career pathway, I was instrumental in the innovation and implementation of a RN to BSN preceptorship program between Kingsbrook Jewish Medical and State University of New York, Plattsburgh. I was the first person to benefit from this initiative, which now allowed RN nurses to virtually complete their bachelor’s degree from whatever location, without having to live on the university campus. As a course requirement for my doctoral study, I also did an assignment where recommendations were made with innovative ideas that could be used to help Atlantic Union College regain its status as an accredited college. In my role as a nurse manager, I also implemented initiative for patients to wash their hands and accesses immediately on entering patient care areas, in an attempt to improve quality of care.
